Wish Lists

Hey there, you!  Happy Monday!  I must confess, this weekend was a lazy one.  I was in bed by about 9pm every night.  It was glorious!  After a big win by the Dawgs, lots of quality time with my pillows, and one long and lovely Sunday morning stroll around town, it is back to the salt mines. :]

Besides work, the holidays are what is on my mind!  With just a little less than 6 weeks left until Christmas Day, I bet lots of folks are coming up with their wish lists for this year.  Toys for kids, money for college students, help around the house for moms, tools for handy dads...

When most people think about wish lists, one thing usually comes to their mind: material objects.

With the holidays around the corner, I want to take a moment to step away from our wishes for material things and focus on the things we want that are not tangible- hopes, dreams, wishes, desires, goals.

I wish:
  • To give more of myself (to charity, to others)
  • To remain consistent with my half-marathon training
  • For more time with my family
  • To figure out my career path
  • To make even more time for the things I love
  • To go to church more often
  • To be more helpful to those around me
  • To be more efficient with my time
  • To procrastinate less
  • To be more graceful, classy and poised
What are you wishing for this year?

    1. Carol, this post reminds me of the song "My Grown Up Christmas List"! I love your focus on non-material things and think that it's so common and easy for us to forget that THAT is what we should be striving for. Like you, one of mine is to make more time for family and to give more of myself. Strengthening/building relationships is another one. Oooh, you've actually got me thinking about more now. Thanks for the inspiration!
