Beginnings

Hi everyone!  How are you today?  I'm sorry this post is coming your way so late... Work was pretty busy and I also am trying to prepare for classes a few days ahead of time which means most of my free time is spent working on those things and unfortunately blogging gets pushed back.  Thanks for being patient with me while I work out all the little kinks of my new schedule!

Class yesterday was great!  I really thought I'd have more to share, but there isn't actually much to say about it... I saw several of the people I met in orientation and my extra curricular course I took previously in the year which was nice.  Seeing familiar faces makes new beginnings a little easier, don't you think?  I'm really looking forward to the rest of the semester and the things I'll learn in my Monday class.  Now, the anxiety has moved to the course I'm taking tomorrow. The Global Economy (my Monday course) is definitely an area where I feel comfortable.  Accounting is not... Luckily, one of the girls from my orientation and my Monday course is in my class tomorrow, so at least I'll have a friend!

Before heading to class yesterday, I came home to a surprise from my friend Claire.  COOKIES!! Aren't friends the best?!

After taking Bailey on a walk and then devouring three of these delicious peanut butter and chocolate cookies, I threw together a green monster smoothie as a dinner I could slurp down on the way to class.  I'm thinking smoothies are going to be my go-to pre-class dinner.  Filling and nutritious!  Hopefully I won't have cookie appetizers every time I have a smoothie though.

On another note... in preparation for another extra curricular course I'm taking, I was required to take a survey about my "emotional IQ."  Several of the questions asked about change, surprises and new or unexpected things in life and how I react to them.  In general, I am a person who enjoys new things, change and surprises.  New beginnings excite me because of the possibilities they bring.  When I've been in the same routine for too long, I start to get anxious and bored and begin looking for things that will bring some new and exciting things into my life.  As I start this journey obtaining my MBA, many new things and fresh beginnings are presenting themselves.  The possibilities from this adventure are endless and I am optimistic and looking forward to what the future holds.

Before you go, I want to know:

How do you view new beginnings, change and surprise?  Do you like it or are you more a creature of habit?

  1. I think the beginning of classes deserves a cookie appetizer. You are going to rock this. I loved economy - it's particularly interesting given the downfall we've experienced.

Besides, if it sucks you can always come home and have another cookie to comfort yourself. ;)

  5. I wonder what that test would say about me. I thinkk it would say that I like new beginnings to keep things exciting, but that they also scare me because I get comfortable in routines. Hmmm.

Glad things are going well so far!!

    1. I'm similar- routines are definitely comfortable but after a while I get tired of them and ready for something new.

  6. I'm a creature of habit, but only out of, er, habit...I love change, surprise, and new things, I just get into a rut often and only do the same old. Love that you are excited about all the options your future holds!

(And can I steal your friend? I want PB&choco-cookies-in-a-jar too ;D)
