This past weekend ended up being one of the best weekends I've had in quite some time! Well, truthfully all my weekends lately have rocked but this one was especially fun. I had an evening to myself on Friday and then things got busy!
Saturday morning the day began with coffee and a trip to Scott's Antique Market with my friend Lauren. It was our first trip to the market and we had a blast! Both of us got some great deals. I was thrilled to come home with a vintage suitcase (for stacking side table purposes) and a brand new coffee table!
My suitcase is an old Samsonite that is in fantastic shape! I'm
collecting old suitcases to stack on top of each other and eventually
use them as a side table/decoration. This is the first one I've found
for a decent price and I couldn't believe when I scored it for just
$15! Antiquing success!
The coffee table I purchased has a really unique story behind it. A family from Alabama makes these tables in all sizes from century old barn wood! I absolutely loved the vintage look of this table and was impressed with the quality of the piece. Their prices were unbeatable and I was so happy when I was able to purchase this coffee table. Hopefully sometime soon, I'll be able to purchase more pieces of furniture from this talented family. If you are interested, you can find them on Facebook here.
After a long morning of antiquing, Lauren and I headed home for lunch. Then it was time to play with Bailey! Over the course of the weekend, Bails and I hit up the dog park twice and she had a blast both times. It is so wonderful to see her run around and enjoy herself in the park! She and I made a few new friends and enjoyed the beautiful 70 degree weather we had in Atlanta over the weekend. Fun times outside!
The city was alive with people and Bailey and I even got to see Laura towards the end of her 6 hour exercise adventure! The shorts-and-t-shirt weather me feel incredibly blessed to live in this city that I love so much.
Saturday night I had a blast celebrating a friend's birthday and meeting up with more friends downtown. Then, Sunday was a day for errands and playtime at the dog park. After the dog park, some friends and I watched the Falcons win their playoff game and then Bails and I had a quiet evening at home watching the Golden Globes. Jessica Alba is quite possibly the most beautiful person I've ever seen in my life...
Today marks the official beginning of my MBA courses, so I've got to get going and finish up my preparation for class tonight. Wish me luck!
I hope your week has started off well and I can't wait to update you on class come tomorrow. Til then, tell me:
What was your favorite part of the weekend?
That sounds like an awesome weekend, Bailey must have loved all the outdoor time! She's such a cutie, I love any post where she makes an appearance :). Good luck on your presentation!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Allie! Yes- Bails loves any chance she has to go outside. It's her favorite!
DeleteI am dying to hit up an antique place near me because my place could use some decorating badly.
ReplyDeleteWow so jealous of 70-degree weather! It's not too cold here right now, but that sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove your antiquing finds. I never think to look at markets like that for unique home furnishings. We must have a good one somewhere around here. Thanks for the idea!
Also, I was thinking the same thing about Jessica Alba last night. She looks amazing. And to think she pretty recently had a child!!
BTW, good luck with school!!
DeleteThe weather was really nice. Now it is cold and rainy again haha! Let me know if you find a good antique place!

DeleteI would I could have hung out with you. I LOVE antiquing!! And that coffee table is awesome. I can't wait to see the suitcases. I've seen those design elements in magazines and they are so classy.
ReplyDeleteI wish you could have come and hung out too!
DeleteOoh that looks like such a fun weekend! I can't say I've ever been antiquing but I bet you'd find some great blog photography props! My favourite part of the weekend was seeing The Blue Man Group in Boston with my dad. The show was amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat!! Can't wait to hear about it!
DeleteLove antiquing & LOVE all the goodies you walked away with =).
ReplyDeletep.s. I agree about Jessica Alba. I sure open when I'm her age & after giving birth to two children I look that damn good, Ha!
Agreed. She is beautiful.
DeleteI LOVE that coffee table, it's so beautiful!! I wonder if they will ship to NJ.. Sounds like such a wonderful weekend!! My weekend was pretty low key, but I got my kitchen sparkling clean and that made me quite happy. Sometimes it's the little things :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh that is on my to-do list this week. There are so many little spots that have been staring at me and I really need to get them cleaned up.
DeleteIt was so good to see you!!! You have no idea how much I needed that. I was ready to give up and you got me through the last hour. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that coffee table is gorgeous! I want one for my house now too...but I should probably start with the couch, huh? ;)
