God Made Dirt, and Dirt Don't Hurt

Happy Monday everyone! How are you today? How was your weekend?

What a weekend it was! I meant to spend some time at my house cleaning up and doing laundry, but what was supposed to be a quiet weekend ended up packed full of activities! What can I say? Friends trump clean floors.  Friday I met a friend out for sushi and we ran into several friends I haven't seen in a while which was a lovely surprise! Saturday morning, Bailey and I went for a nice long walk and spent some time in the dog park. It was practically deserted because of the mud (the weather in Atlanta has been quite rainy as of late), and Bails had a field day.  She loves playing with other dogs, but she also adores playing with me. I mean, I am her human after all. We spent nearly an hour running around chasing each other, throwing tennis balls and getting nice and muddy.

Needless to say, someone got a b-a-t-h when we got home. Saturday evening, a few friends and I met up for dinner and drinks and we had a great time. It feels nice to get out of the house every now and then on the weekends. Sometimes I forget how much goes on in this town while I'm sleeping!

Sunday, Bails and I had another nice walk and we played a bit with our neighbor's dog. Afterwards, I went to church and the grocery store and then Bailey and I met up with Traci and Stella at the dog park near their house. The pups had a blast! The dog park up by Traci's house is much bigger than the park near my place and there had to be over 100 dogs there on Sunday.  We stayed for about an hour and a half, and by that time Bails was getting pretty tired.  We went home and watched a pretty terrible chick flick (This Means War with Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and some British dude) and then closed the evening with an Oscar's party at Laura's house!

Beer Hummus, a delicious pesto, BBQ meatballs and Italian meatballs were all on the menu!
Loved these silly napkins she put out!

She even had a red carpet for us to walk down!

Not only did I get to partake in Laura's incredible cooking and see my wonderful friend, but I also got to meet some new people whose company I truly enjoyed. We laughed, ate, and made our Oscar predictions as though we knew something. It was the perfect way to end another wonderful weekend.

In the end, I didn't get much done around the house, but there will be time for that later. Sometimes spending time with the people you care about is more important than clean dishes and floors. Besides, God made dirt and (a little) dirt don't hurt. :]

This week, it is my goal to get my house cleaning complete, get back on a serious workout schedule and to do a better job with my meal prep. I've also got an exam coming up in my Global Economy class, so I'll be preparing for that as best I can. Part of me is beginning to think I need Hermione's Time-Turner if I want to get everything I need to accomplished. But something tells me I'm going to have to juggle all this as a mere muggle.  I get the feeling I can juggle it all successfully. Just takes a little adaptation.

  4. Glad you had a great weekend Lil! I agree This Means War was a horrible movie...sigh bc I think it could've been something good. Watched the Oscars and thought it was pretty disappointing (the overall show that is--not the award winners).

    SEnding you lots of love!!
